2006 Data - Notes ----------------- 6999.00 data in T1 or T2 indicates sensor error and should be discarded. 2 March onwards - T2 reading high - should be ignored (T2 was replaced 8 Sept, but fan was 'iffy' so still readin high in low winds) T1 OK throughout. 24 May - 26 June Switches indicate an error ( 1,3 ) however AWS operating fine apart from switches, data OK. Archive of Notes from AWS log on webpage ---------------------------------------- 1/12/06 Suspected anemometer fault (1200 30/11/06). Need to see if I have a spare! 27/11/06 Some local network issues may prevent data posting to the www. During weekends networking will not be fixed until the next working weekday. 22/11/06 Managed a last minute trip in good weather - anemometer/wind vane replaced and lid heater fixed. Should all be OK now. Thermometer 2 (T2) has inoperative fan so will read several degrees high in low winds, T1 should be OK. Data being displayed at Glenmore Lodge, and currently updating on the web site at 0715, 1315, 1915 and 0115. (GSM phones sometimes 'loose' the network connection, our GSM resets daily so any break in connection should be fixed in due course!) 14/11/06 Still waiting for good weather window to coincide with my availability for maintainance trip. 16/10/06 Windspeed and wind direction both seemed to have failed at the same time - which is really odd since they are different instruments. For now I've shutdown the AWS remotely and plan a trip to check it in November. 11/10/06 Thermometer 2 is reading high when windspeed is below ~20mph. Faulty fan suspected. Replacement on order. Changed data download to 4 times daily. 8/9/06 Thermometer replaced, AWS OK. Heater on anemometer has failed, will be replaced before winter, but otherwise windspeeds are fine. Heater added to wind vane. 12/7/06 AWS offline - waiting for new thermometer 10/7/06 Data on T1 (6669) is error ------------------------------------------ WNM Dec 2006 http://www.phy.hw.ac.uk/resrev/weather.htm ------------------------------------------
